Questions about reusing Infant car seats? Last year when I was pregnant, my husband and I got a used Graco Snug Ride for our child. My husband just got laid off so we didn't have alot of money to spend on a carseat or other things really. Things since then have been much better however last week I bought a new Carseat cover for the Graco Snug ride. I am wondering how many Different Types of Snug rides were made? I have the Snug ride that goes up to 20lbs and the snug ride cover I got is too big for it. the issue is not re-using the seat - it's the fact that you purchased it used. Is it recalled? What is the date of manufacutering? Graco gives 6 years of life to their car seats - anythign older then that, and it's expired. I'm guessing since it's the 20lb snugride, it's actually expired. It might even be a 3pt harness instead of a 5 pt harness. They have made a handful of advances with the 22lb snugride. What i would do - at this point - is book an appointment with a certified car seat tech. Explain where you got the seat, your financial status, ect.
